(VOVworld)- The Vietnamese Students’ Association released a statement Wednesday demanding China withdraw its oil rig Haiyang 981 and escort ships from Vietnam’s exclusive economic zone and continental shelf. The Association called on Chinese students to urge the Chinese government to halt actions that violate international law and respect Vietnam’s sovereignty in order to ensure peace and friendship between Vietnamese and Chinese people. The Association appealed to students all over the world to support Vietnam’s legal and just demand and urged Vietnamese students inside and outside the country to help mobilize support for the Vietnamese Party and State’s policies of peaceful struggle.
