German Consul General Hans Dieter Stell spoke at the ceremony:"This is an unforgettable day. During its 20-year operation, the Vietnam-Germany Friendship Association in Ho Chi Minh City has contributed greatly to bilateral relations in numerous aspects. The Association still has many things to do in the future. We will do our best to consolidate our cooperation in the interests of each country’s development".
The Association in the future will renew its operations, fine tune its apparatus, and involve more young members in order to improve the quality and efficiency of its programs. In the mean time, it’s necessary to expand its affiliate network and long-term relations with German partners to develop focused areas in Ho Chi Minh city such as vocational training, urban management, and environmental protection.
