Vietnam's new COVID-19 wave infections surpass 11,000 as 91 cases added Friday morning

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam confirmed 91 more COVID-19 infections including 79 local transmissions Friday morning, raising the number of cases recorded in the ongoing wave to more than 11,000.

57 of the latest cases were recorded in HCM city, 10 in its neighbor Binh Duong province, 5 in central Binh Thuan province, two in Central Highlands Gia Lai province, and one each in northern Quang Ninh and Bac Giang provinces, Hai Phong city, central Khanh Hoa province, and southern Long An province.

60 of the new domestic cases were detected in quarantine facilities or locked down areas. 

Vietnam has so far recorded more than 14,000 infections of COVID-19 including 72 fatal cases.
