(VOVWORLD) - A host of world leaders congratulated Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on his newest election victory on Sunday night.

US President Joe Biden congratulated Erdogan, tweeting that he looks forward to continuing to work together as NATO Allies on bilateral issues and shared global challenges.
Former US President Donald Trump called this a huge and well-deserved victory for the Turkish leader, calling him a great patriot worthy of respect.
Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission said the bloc wanted to strengthen ties with Turkey and that she looked forward to "continue building the EU-Turkey relationship".
NATO Secretary-General, Jens Stoltenberg, said he looked forward to "continuing our work together and preparing for the NATO Summit in July".
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz emphasized that Germany and Turkey are close partners and alliances, closely linked socially and economically.
French President Emmanuel Macron hoped that the two countries will continue to work together to solve the challenges facing France and Turkey and help bring peace back to Europe.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy congratulated Erdogan on Twitter, saying he counted on the further strengthening of the strategic partnership for the benefit of the two countries, as well as the strengthening of cooperation for the sake of security and stability of Europe.
