ASEAN + 3 senior officials discuss Social Welfare and Development

Addressing the opening session, Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, Nguyen Trong Dam, said the poor and disadvantaged are more vulnerable to economic crisis as well as natural calamities and climate change impact. He called for more international cooperation to promote social welfare and development. Southeast Asian countries have initiated measures to promote social welfare services to the vulnerable for human rights based and integrated society. During the meeting, ASEAN and its partners have agreed on future cooperation for regional interests to promote social welfare and development.
