The annual publication presents policy recommendations that aim at resolving regulatory hurdles and facilitating the growth of Vietnam’s economy, focusing on trade, investment, employment, and development.
Alain Cany, President of EuroCham, said the Whitebook can be used to support Vietnam’s socio-economic development plans and enable the Team Europe to effectively support these plans. EuroCham believes that if the challenges outlined in the Whitebook are addressed, full potential of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) can be realized.
Thomas Wiersing, Chargé d'affaires of the EU Delegation to Vietnam, said the EU-Vietnam partnership has created several cooperation opportunities for businesses on both sides. The EVFTA is a driving force promoting trade and investment and creating favorable conditions for bilateral cooperation in technology.
"We can see clearly that our partnership works. I'm confident that it will work even better in the future. The publication of the Whitebook was undoubtedly facilitated our collaboration with the government. The EU delegation is resolved to continue working closely with our Vietnamese counterparts to further develop the implementation of the EVFTA. We also count on continued support of the EuroCham and the business community in Vietnam to make the most benefits offered by the EVFTA,” said Thomas Wiersing.
Representatives from Vietnamese ministries and sectors held talks with European businesses, answered their questions about green economy, sustainable development, innovation, and investment. They discussed recommendations to optimize Vietnam's attractiveness to foreign investors in the new global value chain.
