Secretary of Hanoi’s Party Committee Dinh Tien Dung told the conference that the city’s GRDP from January to September recorded a positive growth, but was still behind the set target. 76% of businesses have resumed operation, but a lot of production and trade activities have stalled, goods and service supply chains have been interrupted, and the travel of businessmen, experts, and workers have been disturbed.
Mr. Dung said: “To accompany and share the burdens with businesses under the motto “businesses’ health is the economy’s health”, the municipal authority has done its best to contain the pandemic as soon as possible while resolving obstacles to help businesses overcome this difficult period, resume production, and minimize the pandemic’s impacts.”
Mac Quoc Anh, Vice Chairman and Secretary General of the Hanoi SMEs Association, said: “Functional agencies should delay and relax tax obligations for businesses, such as corporate income tax in the fields of logistics, services, garment and textiles, footwear, and real estate.”
Representatives from businesses have recommended ministries and sectors to integrate utility services in processing administrative procedures to help businesses reduce time and costs and create a favorable business environment for start-ups.
