(VOVworld)-A delegation with representatives from the Naval Force, the financial sector, reporters and artists has visited soldiers working at oil rig safeguarding post No1 (DK1) in the southern province of Ba Ria - Vung Tau.

Earlier, the delegation held a memorial service in Phuc Nguyen sea to pay tribute to naval soldiers who sacrificed for the protection of national sovereignty and territorial integrity. The oil rig post is part of several Economic-Science- Service post on Vietnam’s southern continental self. Several soldiers died during powerful storms in the late 1990s when protecting the rigs and serving rescue operations. Colonel Le Manh Tien from the Naval Force was speaking at the memorial service:“Thanks to support from the Party, State and Vietnamese people at home and abroad, the safeguard rigs have been solidified and expanded while providing better living conditions for soldiers on duty. The memorial service was to pay tribute to our late comrades and reiterate our determination to protect the country’s sea and islands.”
