Many foreign tourists prefer to welcome New Year in Ha Long Bay, a World Natural Heritage site in Vietnam. Desmond Moldenhauer from South Africa, said: “We spend our holidays here for 2 weeks. I’m so excited to see how Vietnamese people celebrate the New Year. It’s interesting to experience a new thing. We want to go sightseeing by the sea and drink together. There will be fireworks display in some venues on New Year’s Eve in Ho Chi Minh City.

More than 140,000 domestic and foreign tourists are expected to spend New Year holidays at tourist sites such as Ba Na Hill, the Marble Mountain, and Asia Park in Da Nang City. Tien Sa port and Da Nang International Airport are expected to welcome around 8,000 foreign tourists from Japan, China, Germany, and South Korea on this occasion. Nguyen Van Hung, CEO of a Da Nang travel company, said: “Da Nang has seen an increasing number of tourists, especially after APEC 2017 events. The tourism sector and travel agencies in the city have closely worked together to give the best possible services to visitors”.

On this occasion, Thua Thien Hue province welcomes a large number of visitors who explore historical and cultural relic complexes.

The Vietnam-Australia Mural Village in Cao Lanh City, Dong Thap province, attracts crowds of tourists on New Year holiday. More than 2 kilometers of 60 mural paintings featuring Vietnamese and Australian symbols of kangaroo, koala, and lotus is part of a community art project sponsored by the Australian Embassy in Vietnam.
