Vietnam’s Poetry Night organized at home and abroad
(VOVworld) – A traditional Poetry Night was held at the Vietnamese Embassy in Russia on the Friday night or the 15
th day of the first lunar month. Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Pham Xuan Son addressed the event:
"I’d like to reiterate that the cooperation between Vietnam and Russia in culture, education, and literature play a very important role. The Russian or Soviet literature has had certain strong effects on many generations of Vietnamese people. It has helped to boost mutual understanding between us, thus contributing to consolidating the friendly relationship between Vietnam and Russia."

In another development, Bui Van Cuu, Vice chairman of the Hoa Binh provincial People’s Committee beat a gong of the Muong ethnic group, opening the Poetry Night to celebrate the new spring. Artists and business people in Hoa Binh province recited more than 30 poems, played musical instruments, and sang in praise of patriotism and love for the country’s Hoang Sa or Paracel and Truong Sa or Spratly archipelagos. In addition to poem recitations by professional artists, there are performances from amateur poets from many local poetic clubs, featuring the Muong ethnic cultural identities, traditional and renovated poems.
Similar events are organized in Ca Mau, Binh Duong, Can Tho, Thanh Hoa provinces as well as in many other localities across Vietnam.
