The Red River Landscape Boulevard project, a long-held aspiration, is now approaching realization. Covering 11,000 hectares, it includes an 80-kilometer transportation boulevard and a network of landscaped parks and entertainment areas.

Scheduled for completion by 2030, the project is expected to become the centerpiece of the Red River Miracle. Research on development along both banks of the Red River dates back decades, accompanied by numerous planning schemes and proposals.

According to Trinh Xuan Quang, a deputy of the Hanoi People’s Council, the project marks a breakthrough in efforts to turn the Red River axis into a new symbol of Hanoi’s growth.

The idea of a major city on both banks of the Red River took shape after 1954, and particularly in the 2000s with Hanois expansion that shifts the development focus toward the north of the Red River. This project embodies the aspirations of  generations of Hanoians, city leaders, and national leaders alike,” said Quang.

The Olympic Sports Urban Area project is expected to deliver a powerful boost to the southern area of the capital. Spanning more than 9,000 hectares with an initial estimated investment of 36.8 billion USD, it is Hanoi’s largest urban project to date.

The Sports Complex including the Bronze Drum Stadium is scheduled for completion by the second quarter of 2030, with the entire project to be finalized by 2035, enabling Hanoi to host major regional and global sporting events such as ASIAD or even the Olympics.

This will create a new face for the thousand-year-old capital as it evolves into a green, smart, and globally connected mega-city.”

With urgent and strong engagement from authorities at all levels, these projects are set to progress on schedule, ultimately reshaping Hanoi’s future.
