At a conference on legislative orientations in Hanoi on Tuesday, Mr. Man said that Vietnam should have in place a high-quality, comprehensive, modern legal system that aligns with international standards and practices while remaining firmly grounded in the country’s realities.

“The Government should urgently review relevant legal documents to promptly remove bottlenecks, helping achieve the goal of double-digit economic growth and ensuring the smooth operation of the three-tier government system. Drafting agencies must genuinely consult affected stakeholders during the lawmaking process,” said Chairman Man.

The top legislator also called on the Vietnam Fatherland Front and its member organizations to improve the quality of legislative oversight and social criticism, and to play a more active role in the lawmaking process.
