So far, the provincial People’s Committee has granted green tourism certifications to 25 travel agencies and many more have completed their applications to be certified in the near future. New green tourism products based on the issued criteria have also been developed locally and welcomed by both international and domestic tourists.
Nguyen Thanh Hong, Director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said: "Quang Nam has nearly all types of tourism. We’re focusing on developing green tourism products, protecting the ecological environment, and preserving local tourism resources."
The Swiss government said it will continue to support the development of Hoi An city into a globally recognized sustainable tourist destination, assist Quang Nam province in updating its green tourism criteria, and help travel agencies obtain international sustainable tourism certifications.
