In April 1976, the first advance team members from Hanoi came to Nam Ban. In just over 2 years, 2,600 Hanoi youth reclaimed more than 1,900 hectares of land, opened hundreds of kilometers of roads, and worked with local ethnic people to build houses, develop production, and form new villages.
After 50 years, the Hanoi new economic zone in Lam Dong has coffee, mulberry, and high-tech agricultural production areas. Transportation infrastructure, schools, and medical facilities have been built, and people's lives are improving. The name ‘Lam Ha’ is an abbreviation of ‘Lam Dong and Ha Noi’ given to the district when it was established in 1987.
“Hanoi aims to deepen its cooperative relationship with Lam Dong province in a practical and effective manner by strengthening collaboration in areas where it has development advantages. We look forward to seeing the authorities and people of both localities continue their exchanges, experience sharing, and strengthening of bonds,” said Phung Thi Hong Ha, Chairwoman of the Hanoi People's Council.
