At the event, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Gau, Deputy Minister of National Defense said searching, recovering, and identifying fallen soldiers' remains is a task of profound political, social, and humanitarian significance, contributing to honoring fallen heroes and strengthening public trust in the Party, the State, and the Army.

Lieutenant General Gau, who is also deputy head of the National Steering Committee 515 for the search, repatriation, and identification of martyrs’ remains, called on relevant agencies and units to intensify efforts, especially in key zones like Tuyen Quang, Quang Tri, Da Nang, Quang Ngai, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Tay Ninh, Dong Nai, and Ho Chi Minh City, as well as in other countries.

He also called for more efforts to accelerate clearance of mines and unexploded ordnance in key areas like Vi Xuyen commune (Tuyen Quang province), Lao Cai, and Lang Son province this year to facilitate recovery operations.

Since the campaign began on March 15 this year, authorities have recovered 177 sets of remains in Vietnam and other countries, and cleared mines and unexploded ordnance on 630 hectares of land.
