Speaking at the ceremony in Hanoi, the Norwegian Ambassador to Vietnam Hilder Solbakken underlined the strong development in relations between Norway and Vietnam. A significant milestone was the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on Green Strategic Partnership between the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Environment last month, focusing on green economy, circular economy, and sustainable marine economy. This framework will enable the two countries to strengthen cooperation, thereby supporting green and circular transitions in Vietnam.

On behalf of the Vietnamese Government, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang extended congratulations to the Government and people of Norway on their National Day, and applauded Norway's positive contributions to Vietnam's socio-economic development over the years.

She emphasized that Vietnam wishes to work with Norway to build strategic cooperation frameworks in maritime economy, energy transition, sustainable development, and climate change adaptation. Vietnam will create favorable conditions for Norwegian businesses and investment funds to expand cooperation and presence in Vietnam, contributing to transforming common strategic directions into concrete, substantive cooperation projects that bring practical benefits to businesses and people of both countries, the Deputy FM added.
