The 2-day event brings together 600 official delegates representing more than 10 million union members and farmers nationwide.
On Saturday morning, delegates paid tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and laid wreaths at the Bac Son Monument to commemorate fallen heroes and martyrs. The Congress then convened its first session to discuss a number of key agenda items.
The official opening ceremony of the Congress will be held on Monday, with the participation of Party and State leaders. Delegates will review the implementation of the Resolution of the 8th National Congress and hear reports and presentations on major issues in the agricultural sector and set directions, objectives and solutions for 2026–2031.
The Congress aims to build a strong Vietnam Farmers’ Union while promoting farmers as central actors in agricultural development, rural economic growth and new-style rural development. It also seeks to inspire aspirations for a prosperous, strong, civilized and happy Vietnam in the new era.
