Attending the ceremony were Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense General Phan Van Giang and Chairman of the Party Central Committee’s Policy and Strategy Commission Nguyen Thanh Nghi.

The program to invest in flood-resilient community centers combined with flood prevention facilities in Dak Lak province has a total investment of 6.5 million USD. It implements the Party and State's policy on strengthening disaster prevention and control capabilities, ensuring the safety of people in the face of increasingly complex climate change and building infrastructure serving the lives of the people.

As planned, phase 1 will involve the construction of 100 community houses in 27 communes and wards. Each house will span 220 m² and will consist of two floors with reinforced concrete foundations, sturdy steel frames, and flood-resistant floors. The facilities will meet the needs for evacuation and centralized shelter for roughly 200 people in emergency situations.

The projects are expected to be completed before September 15, 2026, in time for use before this year's storm season.
