Egypt's President orders investigation of train derailment

(VOVWORLD) - Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi ordered an investigation into the derailment of four carriages of a train traveling from Cairo to Qalyubia, on Sunday.

Eleven people were killed and 98 passengers injured in the accident.

President El-Sisi has asked that the victims’ families be compensated swiftly.

The driver and 8 other rail officials have been detained for questioning.
