(VOVworld) – German Chancellor Angela Merkel hailed a plan proposed by EC President Jean-Claude Juncker for relocating refugees, saying that it is the first major step toward resolving the crisis.

Juncker will announce his plan on Wednesday, which relocates 120,000 refugees, who are currently seeking shelter in Italy, Greece, and Hungary. According to the plan, Germany will receive 26.2 %, France 20%, and Spain 12.4% of the refugees.
The same day, White House spokesman Josh Earnest said the US government is considering some specific measures to help Europe address the immigrant crisis.
