Mr. Lam was speaking at a meeting with female deputies of the 16th National Assembly in Hanoi on Thursday.
“Deputies must maintain regular contact with the grassroots level and dedicate time to meeting individuals who have limited opportunities to participate in formal forums. Oversight must contribute to safeguarding citizens' rights, enhancing the effectiveness of policy implementation, and exercising checks on power,” the top leader noted.
Vice National Assembly President Nguyen Thi Thanh said that the current legislature includes 150 female deputies, 30% of the total.
