At a ceremony in Hanoi on Thursday to launch the Group of Female Deputies of the 16th National Assembly (2026-2031), Mr. Man highlighted female deputies’ important contributions to lawmaking, parliamentary oversight and decisions on major national issues.
NA President Man noted that the proportion of female deputies has remained above 30% in the 14th, 15th and 16th tenures, earning positive recognition from international organizations working on gender equality. This achievement has been highly recognized by international gender equality organizations and the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
He said: “It’s important to fully embrace the legislative agenda of the 16th National Assembly. Politburo Conclusion No. 19 has been rolled out to remove difficulties and bottlenecks to facilitate the country’s further development. Second, I hope that you will strengthen solidarity and cooperation and share information, experience, and lessons from their achievements and challenges. Third, I encourage female deputies to deepen their understanding of children’s issues and gender equality, so they can make more substantive contributions to policymaking.”
The National Assembly President urged the Group to further promote female deputies’ role in parliamentary diplomacy and people-to-people exchanges, accelerate digital transformation and apply artificial intelligence in lawmaking, parliamentary oversight and decision-making on major national issues.
