If confirmed, this will be the first loaded LNG tanker to cross the strait since the conflict started in late February.
The Mubaraz was supplied with LNG at Das Island on March 2 and is believed to have passed through the Strait of Hormuz around April 18 or 19, when many commercial vessels, including seven LNG carriers, were attempting to leave the Persian Gulf. The tanker was carrying 133,000 cubic meters of LNG.
According to international maritime monitoring data, although a US-Iran ceasefire has been in place for three weeks, hundreds of cargo vessels of various types and more than 20,000 sailors of different nationalities are stranded in the Persian Gulf and the sailors are facing worsening living conditions.
