FM Trung hosted a reception in Hanoi for the Group of African Ambassadors to Vietnam, ahead of the 63rd anniversary of Africa Day (May 25), and extended warm congratulations to the African governments and people, and the African community living and working in Vietnam.

He stressed the need to create a solid foundation for relations between Africa and Vietnam in the future and effective cooperation mechanisms, including bilateral and trilateral ones, to share experiences and collaborative initiatives.

The FM expressed confidence that the Group of Ambassadors or Chargé D'affaires of African countries will continue to play an effective bridging role in elevating Vietnam-Africa cooperation to a new level, practically serving the achievement of development goals for both sides.

The ambassadors applauded Vietnam's capabilities, saying they consider the country as a trusted partner and a development model. They wished to broaden cooperation in food security, health care, mineral processing, capacity building, education-training, and tourism.

Agreeing with Minister Trung's view on finding effective cooperation mechanisms, the ambassadors of African countries in Vietnam proposed that both sides finalize the legal framework and action plan for cooperation, along with evaluation mechanisms, and create favorable conditions for trade, travel, and people-to-people exchanges.
