Organized by the Ministry of Public Security and the Hanoi People's Committee, the show was elaborately staged, combining music, dance, drama, skits, dance performances, and historical documents.
There was an exchange with Major General Nguyen Xuan Ha, Hero of the People's Armed Forces. Graduating from the Security Academy in 1983, as a young man from Hanoi, he volunteered to serve in Mang Yang district, Gia Lai province, a key stronghold of FULRO, an anti-government militant organization, at the time. More than 40 years have passed, but the years living with the villagers remain vivid in the memory of this security officer.
“The ethnic minorities in the Central Highlands were facing hardship at that time. We shared meals, medicine, and daily necessities with them, helping them understand the Party and State's policies and guidelines, and the schemes and intentions of hostile forces, especially the FULRO forces, so that they could fight together, detect, and dismantle underground bases embedded among the people. From there, we built a nationwide movement to protect national security and maintain security and order in ethnic minority areas,” Mr. Ha said.
The Gala night also honored outstanding Heroes of the People's Armed Forces from the People's Security Force.
