During the visit, General Secretary and President Lam held talks with President Marcos Jr. At the talks, the two sides issued a Joint Statement elevating the Vietnam-Philippines relationship to an Enhanced Strategic Partnership, opening a new era of development for bilateral cooperation. The two sides agreed to coordinate in developing an Action Program to implement the new framework in the coming period.

Regarding regional and global issues, the two leaders affirmed their commitment to strengthen close coordination and mutual support in multilateral forums. Both sides emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and stability, ensuring security, safety, and freedom of navigation and overflight; resolving disputes peacefully on the basis of international law, including the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).

They pledged to actively coordinate with ASEAN countries to promote effective and substantive negotiations on the Code of Conduct in the East Sea (COC) in accordance with international law, especially UNCLOS.
