Vietnam starts to fully open tourism activities from March 15 in an effort to boost post-COVID-19 economic recovery. |
Zeit (Time) and other newspapers reported that foreign tourists now only require a negative COVID-19 test using the RT-PCR method within 72 hours of departure or a rapid antigen test within 24 hours of departure. Those who do not test prior to their arrival in the nation must take a test within 24 hours and may only leave their accommodations if their results are negative.
Furthermore, tourists are not required to possess a certificate of being fully vaccinated, although they have to install a certified health management app. Children under the age of two are not required to take a COVID-19 test.
Several newspapers also noted that the Vietnamese Government issued a resolution on Wednesday regarding visa waivers for citizens from 13 nations, including Germany. Arrivals from these countries will enjoy 15 days of visa-free travel in Vietnam, beginning from their date of entry regardless their entry purpose.
