Held as part of activities marking the 950th anniversary of Vietnam’s first national university, the exhibition features more than 40 works by 22 young artists, exploring education, school memories and Vietnam’s long-standing tradition of learning through a contemporary lens.
Many of the artworks draw inspiration from familiar symbols of Vietnamese scholarship, including 14th-century teacher Chu Van An, students preparing for imperial examinations, and the well-known story of 14th-century scholar Mac Dinh Chi studying by the light of fireflies kept in eggshells.
A special highlight of the exhibition is an interactive space called “The Laureates’ Garden,” where visitors can explore 950 real-life stories about learning shared by people of different generations, professions and regions.
Designed with traditional materials such as do (poonah) paper, conical hats and woven bamboo, the exhibition creates a meaningful connection between Vietnam’s spirit of learning and its cultural heritage.
The exhibition runs through June 30.
