The General Secretary and President chaired a working session with the Hanoi City Party Committee on the task performance in the first half of 2026 and solutions to the second half, as well as implementing the Politburo's Resolution on building and developing Hanoi in the new era.
He acknowledged Hanoi's proactive and decisive efforts in fine-tuning institutions, planning, administrative reform, and implementing the Politburo's Resolution, which is laying a foundation for a new development phase. The top leader urged Hanoi city to focus on key tasks in the last six months of the year.
“Double-digit growth is a momentous political task, but we shouldn't pursue growth at all costs. We need to rebuild growth scenarios for each industry, sector, locality, and major project. I propose that Hanoi conduct a thorough review of its development resources, clearly identify which resources are active, which are being used inefficiently, which industries and sectors can accelerate, and which products can be promoted, and then focus on addressing these issues immediately,” Mr. Lam said.
The General Secretary and President emphasized that Hanoi must be more modern and preserve its cultural identity. All citizens should benefit from the fruits of development, he added. Hanoi must pioneer new models and driving forces that have a nationwide impact.
