Ho Chi Minh City simultaneously broke ground on a series of key projects on Wednesday, including the City Central Square, the new municipal Administrative Center, and Metro Line No. 2 (the Ben Thanh-Thu Thiem section).

The Central Square and Administrative Center projects carry a combined investment of 1.2 billion USD, covering nearly 47 hectares, and are scheduled to be completed by 2030. They will provide offices for more than 8,000 officials and civil servants while serving 1,500 to 2,000 citizens daily through a modern one-stop administrative system.

Once connected with Metro Line No. 2, the new Administrative Center is expected to become the core of a political, administrative and international financial hub. The project will also form part of an urban railway corridor linking Tan Son Nhat International Airport and Long Thanh International Airport.

The same day, Sun Group launched a renovation project for the Ho Chi Minh City Branch of the Ho Chi Minh Museum.

“The projects launched today will help shape a super metropolis of regional and international stature, create a modern and transparent governance space that better serves residents, establish an integrated public transport system, and build cultural institutions that harmonize contemporary development with the preservation of the city’s historical and cultural values,” said Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Van Duoc.
