Participants will discuss ways to secure nuclear materials against theft or sabotage during transportation, the use of nuclear forensics to assist in criminal investigations, and emergency preparedness and response in case of a nuclear security event.

The delegates have adopted a declaration on enhancing global nuclear security to counter the threat of nuclear terrorism.

IAEA member states share a common goal of nuclear non-proliferation, nuclear disarmament, peaceful use of nuclear energy, and recognize that nuclear security is vital to international peace and security.
