In a statement posted on X on Sunday, Elias Hazrati, head of Iran’s Government Information Council, called the resignation reports “fabricated” and accused Western media of attempting to create division within Iran.
Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said contacts between Tehran and Washington remain ongoing while Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf said Iran will reject any agreement that fails to safeguard its national rights and interests.
Iranian officials have repeatedly said they will defend Iran’s right to a civilian nuclear program, maintain Iran’s defense capabilities, and protect Iran’s interests in the Strait of Hormuz, a key global oil shipping route.
