Iraq orders 24-hour suspension of military operations in Kurdish region

(VOVWORLD) - Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi on Friday ordered a 24-hour suspension to military operations against Kurdish forces in northern Iraq, to put the territories held by Kurdish forces under federal control.

In an announcement, Mr. Abadi said the halt is intended to prevent “clashes and bloodshed” between the people of the same country.
