Exit polls suggest that neither Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud-led coalition nor the opposition bloc led by former Chief of General Staff Gadi Eisenkot has secured the 61 seats needed for a parliamentary majority.
Unofficial projections by Israel’s major television networks after the polls closed showed the opposition bloc winning 52 seats in the 120-member Knesset, and parties supporting Netanyahu winning 50 seats.
