NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man said in his opening remarks that the conference also assesses the role of locally-elected bodies in Vietnam’s new phase of development, and discusses lessons learned amid efforts to streamline and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of Vietnam's political system.
The Party and State have issued strategic policies on renewing Vietnam's growth model, digital transformation, administrative reform, decentralization, delegation of authority, and administrative unit reorganization, he said.
“People’s Councils at all levels have worked hard to overcome difficulties and fulfill their role as the local bodies of State power, representing the will, aspirations, and right to mastery of the people,” the top legislator noted.
