Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Phung Duc Tien said at a press conference in Hanoi that the event is planned to take place next Monday and Tuesday, with around 300 participants attending both in-person and online.
In 2025, Vietnam’s fisheries output reached nearly 10 million tonnes, with export value exceeding 11 billion USD, providing livelihoods for more than 4 million workers. The country ranked fourth in the world in seafood production and third in export value,
As Vietnam’s fisheries sector is facing an urgent need for strong restructuring, the conference is expected to serve as a platform to connect science and technology with production, boost exports, and promote growth.
“Although 2025 was a difficult year with many major challenges, we still achieved an output of 9.95 million tonnes. The conference is an opportunity to connect scientific and technological values with production and business, strengthen exports, and promote growth,” said Mr. Tien.
