At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' regular press briefing in Hanoi on Thursday Hang said: "This is a strategic policy with profound humanitarian significance, reflecting the Party and State’s care for people living in border, remote, and disadvantaged areas. It’s one of the key tasks in Vietnam's socio-economic development and ethnic policy."
"This effort aims to improve the material and cultural well-being of border residents while contributing to strengthening Vietnam's national defense and security. These schools will help develop human resources, promote sustainable socio-economic development in border areas, and foster people-to-people exchanges between Vietnam's border provinces and neighboring countries," said Ms Hang.
Ms Hang said the first phase of the project, covering the construction of 100 schools, is progressing on schedule and will be completed in time for the 2026–2027 academic year.
