During the session, lawmakers institutionalized a range of policies and legislation to implement the Resolution of the 14th National Congress, and set priorities for socio-economic development, national defense, security, and foreign affairs. They passed a resolution establishing Dong Nai as a centrally-run city beginning April 30, 2026. The legislature set a growth target of at least 10% for the 2026-2030 period, and a GDP per capita of 8,500 USD.
“The National Assembly elected and approved 39 senior officials within the state apparatus, including the President, the National Assembly Chairman, and the Prime Minister, all with a very high level of confidence. It also passed 9 laws and 31 resolutions,” National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man said.
The policies adopted reflect a spirit of innovation and resolute action to remove bottlenecks, while addressing both immediate needs and long-term development goals, he said, adding they promote greater decentralization alongside clearer accountability, and help unlock resources for socio-economic development.
“In particular, timely and flexible adjustments to tax policies demonstrate a proactive and decisive approach to fiscal management, aimed at helping businesses and people overcome difficulties.”
Chairman Man also said lawmakers discuss the development plans for 2026-2030, including the socio-economic development plan, the national financial plan, public borrowing and debt repayment, and the medium-term public investment plan.
