At the ceremony, General Phan Van Giang, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense, said the new department aligns with global trends in military science and technology and will enhance the overall combat strength of the Vietnam People's Army.

He urged the new unit to recognize the importance of a modern, high-tech combat force, strengthen its sense of responsibility and self-reliance, overcome all challenges, and fulfill its assigned duties. General Giang called on the department to provide strategic advice to the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense on the development and operation of unmanned vehicle forces.

Colonel Nguyen Van Truong, Director of the Unmanned Vehicle Department, said the organization will focus on training personnel to operate and master modern equipment, strengthen coordination with all agencies and units and local authorities, and develop flexible, effective joint combat plans to respond to high-tech warfare scenarios.
