Those commemorated included former Party General Secretaries Le Duan and Nguyen Van Linh; former Chairman of the Council of State Vo Chi Cong; former State President Le Duc Anh; former Chairman of the Council of Ministers Pham Hung; and former Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet.

General Secretary and President Lam and his entourage expressed deep gratitude for the leaders’ lifelong dedication and major contributions to the Party and the nation’s revolutionary cause.

On Monday, the top leader laid flowers and offered incense at Hill 82 Tan Bien Martyrs’ Cemetery in Tay Ninh Province. The delegation observed a moment of silence in tribute to fallen heroes who sacrificed their lives for national independence and freedom.

The cemetery is the final resting place of more than 15,000 soldiers from across the country.
