The top leader addressed a ceremony in Hanoi to celebrate the People's Security Academy’s 80th anniversary, June 25, and to receive the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces for the third time.
“The Academy needs to take the lead, guide, build, and fine-tune the doctrine of national security protection of Vietnam. Continue to be a vanguard force protecting the ideological foundation of the Party, maximize the sense of independence, self-reliance, and academic aspirations, create breakthroughs in scientific research and lay a foundation for fine-tuning the Vietnamese National Security Protection Doctrine by 2035,” Mr. Lam said.
On this occasion, General Secretary and President To Lam cut the ribbon to inaugurate the administrative building of the People's Security Academy.
On June 25, 1946, the Police Training School, the predecessor of the People's Security Academy today, was officially established, being the first educational and training institution of the Public Security sector.
By 2026, it trained 57 undergraduate courses, 34 master's degree courses, 30 doctoral degree courses, and dozens of other training and refresher courses.
In addition to training officers for the Vietnamese Public Security Force, the Academy also trained and provided refresher courses for the Lao Ministry of Public Security, the Cambodian Ministry of Interior; and trained and provided refresher courses for internal affairs agencies, the People's Army, and society at large.
