During their talks after the welcoming ceremony, both sides agreed to strengthen reliable, comprehensive, and substantive cooperation; and to effectively implement the newly-signed Memorandum of Understanding on Defence Cooperation between the Ministries of Defence of the two countries. Key areas include exchanging delegations and maintaining the effectiveness of bilateral cooperation mechanisms, especially the Defence Policy Dialogue.
They pledged to actively consult and support each other to maintain the common stance of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) on regional and global security issues. The two sides also exchanged views on the global and regional situation and issues of mutual concern.
