The trip is being made at the invitation of Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia Mohammed Bin Salman.
PM Chinh is the chief guest and the only high-ranking leader in Asia to address the FII.
Since the establishment of diplomatic ties in 1999, Vietnam and Saudi Arabia have increased the exchange of delegations at all levels and organised many investment forums. Most recently, PM Chinh attended the ASEAN-Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Summit and visited Saudi Arabia in October 2023.
Saudi Arabia is currently Vietnam's third largest trading partner in the Middle East-North Africa region, with two-way trade reaching 2.68 billion USD in 2023. In the first nine months of 2024, the figure hit 2.21 billion USD.
