The groundbreaking ceremony for the Huu Nghi-Chi Lang expressway on April 21, 2024, is attended by PM Pham Minh Chinh. |
The Huu Nghi-Chi Lang expressway is built under the BOT (Build - Operate - Transfer) model with a total investment of 430 million USD. The 60km road is expected to be completed in 2026.
At the groundbreaking ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized the development of a synchronous and modern infrastructure system as one of the three strategic breakthroughs that the Party and State are working on.
The eastern section of the North-South expressway connects 32 provinces and cities and three key economic regions. The Huu Nghi-Chi Lang expressway will connect the northern mountainous region and the Red River Delta as well as connect two economic corridors: Nanning-Lang Son-Hanoi-Hai Phong and Lang Son-Hanoi-Ho Chi Minh City-Moc Bai.
It also serves as an important gateway linking ASEAN countries with China, PM Chinh noted.
