PM Hung attended the opening ceremony as well as the plenary and retreat sessions with leaders of ASEAN member states.

He delivered key speeches highlighting the foreign policy adopted at the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam and outlining Vietnam’s views on ASEAN priorities.

He also put forward practical proposals to advance ASEAN Community-building and strengthen the bloc’s resilience and responsiveness to regional and global developments, particularly the spillover effects of the situation in the Middle East. In addition, he exchanged views on regional and international issues of shared concern.

Vietnam’s proposals were welcomed and highly valued by ASEAN leaders for both their substance and timeliness. Based on Vietnam’s recommendations, the summit agreed to issue an ASEAN leaders’ statement on priority actions to strengthen regional resilience.

On the sidelines of the summit, PM Hung held bilateral meetings with leaders of countries and international organizations to strengthen friendship, enhance political trust, and promote substantive and effective cooperation.
