Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh receives former Japanese Prime Minister Fukuda Yasuo |
PM Chinh praised the special sentiment and great contributions of the former PM to the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Japan. He asked Fukuda to continue support the Vietnam-Japan comprehensive strategic partnership, and invited him to visit Vietnam again.
The former Japanese leader said Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's trip will open a new stage of development in the comprehensive strategic partnership between Japan and the ASEAN region, including Vietnam.
He appreciated Vietnam’s role and contributions in the region and the world as a whole, and affirmed that the Japanese Government is willing to work with Vietnam in its modernization and industrialization cause.

Fukuda said Japan considers promoting cooperation with Asian countries, including Vietnam, especially in human resources, a priority in its external relations.
Also on Sunday, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had meetings with the Governors of Japan's Aichi, Tochigi, Niigata, Kanagawa and Yamanashi prefecture.
