PM Hung chaired the regular Government meeting for April, which he said that in the first four months of 2026, Vietnam's macroeconomy was stable, inflation was controlled, and major economic balances ensured.

Citing what has been done, the Prime Minister said the Government updated and supplemented the Action Program to implement Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress and the Party Central Committee’s Conclusion 18 on the plan for socio-economic development, national finance, and medium-term public borrowing and repayment, and public investment from 2026 to 2030, linked to the double-digit growth goal.

“We must combine the allocation of public investment capital with the assessment of socio-economic effectiveness before, during, and after the investment process. Based on the Party Central Committee, Government's directives, the Prime Minister's instructions, and the guidance of the Ministry of Finance, it’s imperative to concretize the guidance on assessing socio-economic effectiveness into specific projects of respective sectors, enterprises, and localities. Socio-economic performance must be assessed. If this is done well, the effectiveness of public investment will have a ripple effect to attract significant social investment resources.”

Looking ahead, the Prime Minister urged strengthening discipline and order in the drafting and promulgation of detailed regulations for laws, ordinances, and resolutions. He stressed the need to implement comprehensive solutions to promote growth, while focusing on maintaining macroeconomic stability and developing scenarios for macroeconomic management.

He requested the Ministry of Industry and Trade to finalize the Power Development Plan 8, reform petroleum distribution and trading, focus on strategic energy reserves, and diversify supply sources. The Ministry of Construction was urged to effectively implement key projects, such as Long Thanh and Gia Binh international airports, and to complete investment preparation, especially for the high-speed railway line on the North-South axis and railway line connecting Vietnam with China.
