According to Minister Trung, the summit established a strategic framework for ASEAN-Russia relations in the coming years through the adoption of the Kazan Declaration 2026 and the ASEAN-Russia Action Plan for 2026-2030.
Notably, energy cooperation was identified for the first time as a new pillar of ASEAN-Russia cooperation, reflecting shared efforts to strengthen energy security and promote sustainable development.
Another key milestone was the first dedicated discussion between ASEAN and Russian leaders on Eurasian integration, opening up broader prospects for cooperation in energy, logistics, trade, science and technology, and interregional connectivity.
Minister Trung said Vietnam’s proposals at the summit contributed to further strengthening ASEAN-Russia relations. PM Hung also put forward a number of practical initiatives to enhance cooperation in energy, Eurasian connectivity, logistics, trade and agriculture.
On the sidelines of the summit, talks between the Vietnamese PM and Russian President Vladimir Putin were a major highlight of the bilateral agenda.
The two leaders reaffirmed the importance of maintaining a high level of political trust and expressed their determination to further deepen Vietnam-Russia relations across the board.
