The grand finale featured a spectacular showdown between China’s Jiangxi Yangfeng Art Display Co., Ltd. and Portugal’s Macedos Pirotecnia.
The Portuguese team delivered a captivating performance that seamlessly blended music and pyrotechnics, taking spectators on an emotional journey from moments of quiet reflection to an exhilarating climax. Cascading waterfalls of light, comet effects, spherical shells, Roman candles, fountains, and a series of signature pyrotechnic displays combined to create a breathtaking visual spectacle, perfectly conveying the finale’s theme of global connectivity.
Meanwhile, the Chinese team showcased an array of impressive fireworks effects synchronized with contemporary music, including three popular Vietnamese songs.
Portugal received the top prize of 20,000 USD, while China finished runner-up and was awarded 10,000 USD.
The organizers also presented the Creativity Award to Italy for its distinctive and highly acclaimed qualifying-round performance. Japan received the Promising Team Award for its technical precision, while the Da Nang-Vietnam team won the Audience Favorite Award, receiving 5,000 USD.
DIFF 2026 has been one of the most successful editions in the festival’s history. Over the past weeks, hundreds of thousands of visitors flocked to Da Nang to enjoy the vibrant atmosphere.
Ahead of the final night, the city recorded more than 557,000 tourist stays during the five qualifying rounds, up 34% from a year earlier. Each fireworks night attracted more than 100,000 visitors, with the fifth competition night on June 27 drawing approximately 117,400 visitors, the highest figure of the season.
