President To Lam receives US Ambassador Marc Evans Knapper

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam always considers the US a partner of strategic importance and is ready to work closely with the US to deepen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries in a more effective and practical manner on the basis of respecting independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity and political institution of each other, bringing benefits to the two peoples, and contribut8ing to peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world, said President To Lam.

At a meeting with US Ambassador Marc Evans Knapper in Hanoi on Thursday, President Lam lauded the US Ambassador's great contributions to the Vietnam-US relations and asked the Ambassador to continue to contribute to the good relationship.

Ambassador Knapper respectfully congratulated President To Lam on being elected President of Vietnam and reaffirmed the US’s commitment to supporting a strong, independent, self-reliant and prosperous Vietnam.

Knapper expressed his belief that the relationship between the two countries will continue to reap more achievements in the coming time.
